As an assembly member, Mr. Mamdani knows that the state legislature and the governor has enormous say over decisions like those.

I’m focused on affordability and raising taxes on anyone does not accomplish that.

Obviously there’s areas of difference in our positions, but I also think that we need to have those conversations.
