“I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Page 24, line 24, strike ``30 days'' and insert ``28 days''. Page 72, insert after line 2 the following: SEC. 1052. ENSURING PRE-ELECTION REGISTRATION DEADLINES ARE CONSISTENT WITH TIMING OF LEGAL PUBLIC HOLIDAYS. (a) In General.--Section 8(a)(1) of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (52 U.S.C. 20507(a)(1)) is amended by striking ``30 days'' each place it appears and inserting ``28 days''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to elections held in 2020 or any succeeding year. The Acting CHAIR.
