I think it becomes the role of this body to protect our citizens. In many instances the violation of rights and privileges are committed upon citizens of the United States, the illegal searches, the fear, the attacks, the midnight raids, the middle of the night raids, the lack of respect for individual rights. If the folks on the other side really believe that their bill is a good bill, and if they believe that they have not in fact trampled, as I believe, on the fourth amendment, there should be no problem in accepting this amendment. This amendment simply will strengthen their belief that the fourth amendment is still intact, and I would urge a 'yes' vote on this amendment.
