I also offer my strong support for an open, public rulemaking process that includes multiple public hearings, sufficient time for public comments, and any relevant independent studies. The more than 2 million people who contacted the FCC to register their opposition to the rules offers clear evidence that we cannot rewrite media ownership rules without including the American public in the process. I will be monitoring the FCC's activities closely as it begins this process, and I urge all of my colleagues to do the same.
