It's fundamental law that executive privilege cannot hide misconduct. You cannot use the executive privilege to hide misconduct by the president or by anybody around him.

Abuse, betrayal, corruption. This is exactly the understanding that the framers incorporated into the Constitution.

Because he's willing to lie in order to obstruct the investigation.

If the reason you're not indicting someone because you believe the law says that the sitting president may not be indicted... then you're converting that into a cover-up.
