I was proud to be part of those efforts and initiatives back in the 1990s and before, and I particularly want to single out for praise the former chairman of this committee and the Judiciary Committee, Vice President Biden, for his steadfast effort that ultimately resulted in the passage of a domestic Violence Against Women Act in 1994.
