It is not dead, and we have to continue to press forward in this spirit, and out of reverence and respect for the life and legacy of Dr. King with the fierce urgency of now, until we can get the John Robert Lewis Voting Rights Act and the freedom to vote act over the finish line.
Jeffries asserts that voting rights legislation is still alive and stresses the need to push for its passage in honor of Dr. King's legacy.
