It's not in our interest for drug traffickers, terrorists, murderers, people interested in fomenting instability and destroying democracy, to have guns.

This was subsequently blocked by the Supreme Court. We cannot let this latest attempt succeed. Calling this legislation the Equal Representation Act is an oxymoron, and I am voting ``no'' and urge my colleagues to vote ``no.''

I look forward to voting against the bill that is called the Equal Representation Act but literally does the opposite.
