FDR: “Give to me and give to your government the credit for a definite intention to eradicate them.”

By virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the statutes of the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:

This is our chance to serve those who serve us.

This year we give as well in necessity—necessity for our own.

I wish I had the power, just for this evening, to be present at all of these gatherings.
