FDR: “In our hearts are prayers for you and for all your comrades in arms who fight to rid the world of evil.”

It is not really of any great importance.

It will recommend agricultural policies and advise Nations on their food and agricultural problems, but it will have no power to coerce or command.

I do know it will come, and I do know that tonight there are over seven and a half million Americans overseas or fighting afloat in this great war.

I wish I had the power, just for this evening, to be present at all of these gatherings.
