Eliot Engel: “I want to thank my friend, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, for introducing H. Res. 351, which condemns the violence…”

This legislation could go a long way toward putting Burma back on the path toward democracy.

I know Mr. Meeks very well and I know that he will do an excellent job--an excellent job--as chairman.

I particularly want to thank Chairman Engel for his leadership, as well as the whole committee, for making the Caesar Act a reality.

This coup is a blatant violation of the rights of the Burmese people.
