Eliot Engel: “U.S. military action with respect to Venezuela would be illegal and ill-advised.”

Self-government is not some sort of temporary arrangement or gift from the military, it's a right that's owed to the people of Burma.

I particularly want to thank Chairman Engel for his leadership, as well as the whole committee, for making the Caesar Act a reality.

I know Mr. Meeks very well and I know that he will do an excellent job--an excellent job--as chairman.

This coup is a blatant violation of the rights of the Burmese people.
