I rise today to announce to my Senate colleagues, as has been my custom each week during this session of the 103d Congress, that during the last 3 weeks, 60 people were killed by gunshots in New York City, bringing the 1994 total to 304.

Following his tenure in the military, Michael continued to devote himself to the service of others.
No ordinary soldier, Michael was decorated with the Bronze Star Medal for Valor in combat and received numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters.
