The bill we are considering today is similar in intent to the Department of Homeland Security CBRNE Defense Act, which passed the House by voice last Congress. Similar legislation was approved by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs earlier this year, and I am hopeful we will work together to swiftly get this important bill to the President for his signature. Mr. Speaker, I want to thank Chairman Walden of the Energy and Commerce Committee for working with me to bring this bill to the floor.
