Senator Durbin mentioned one political party, the mugwumps. I would say the Republicans in the Senate today resembled another as well, the know-nothings. Hear no evil. See no evil. Do no evil. Put your head in the sand. Ignore what's going on. And, today, Senator McConnell led his Republican troops off a cliff.
