Mr. President, I know my good friend from Georgia has to get somewhere, and I have to get somewhere. I will be very brief. I want to take a moment to pay tribute. We have staffers here who are just unsung heroes. They work day in and day out. Because of their diligent work, the world and the country is a better place. One of these people who works in quiet dignity and gets so much done and is so well respected is Bruce King. More from Chuck Schumer
It’s a Hobson’s choice. Either proceed with the bill before us, or risk Donald Trump throwing America into the chaos of a shutdown.
We told the president we've been asking for a meeting for weeks and even months, but now the election results ought to send a much needed bolt of lightning to Donald Trump that he should meet with us to end this crisis.
Republicans have spent months trying to protect Donald Trump and hide what's in the files. Americans are tired of waiting and are demanding to see the truth.
This is not justice — it’s revenge. Every American — and court of law — should soundly reject this alarming lurch into authoritarianism and President Trump’s clear decision to use the Justice Department as his own partisan attack dog.
