first, I thank my good friend from Florida for his inspiring words. He is always trying to work together on bipartisan solutions. He represents one of the largest and most diverse States in the country--a State that very much depends on having good healthcare. I hope my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will heed his words.

More from Chuck Schumer
I’ve worked with USDA on surplus grape purchases before, and I’m urging the USDA to again provide certainty to Upstate farmers, put American-grown grapes to good use, and strengthen the domestic food supply chain we all depend on.
“At a time when rural healthcare systems across Upstate New York are facing significant pressures, it is vital that we invest in preparing a pipeline of the next generation of healthcare workers.”
That’s why I’m calling on the USDA to buy Concord grape juice for domestic nutrition programs and boost our growers because when the farmers who feed our families need help from forces beyond their control, we need to act.
I will keep fighting to ensure New York’s rich history is accessible to the public for generations to come.
