I thank the Senator for his excellent remarks. I wish to say, before I ask him a question, I join with him. This is of vital importance to the close to 8,000 dairy farmers in New York in countless communities. I say to the good Senator from Indiana--and I respect his view--his corn farmers and his soybean farmers get plenty of subsidy. We are never going to get a dairy subsidy to that extent. So if we do not get this compact, I ask my colleague from New Jersey, is it his opinion that the dairy farms in the Northeast will eventually just die and we will have no dairy industry whatsoever?
