On the recordJanuary 21, 2018
Reserving the right to object, Mr. President, I am happy to continue my discussion with the majority leader about reopening the government. We have had several conversations, and talks will continue, but we have yet to reach an agreement on a path forward that would be acceptable for both sides. For that reason, I object. The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection is heard. Mr. McCONNELL. Therefore, Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that, notwithstanding rule XXII, the Senate vote at 12 noon tomorrow on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to concur with amendment. The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered. The Senator from Arizona.
