It would fail in the Senate by a large margin and would never pass the House. Instead of engaging in this stunt of trying to get the heat of America off their backs, they ought to do something real, which is to sit down and seriously negotiate with the Democrats about this issue. This proposal, amazingly enough, is even stingier than the one the Republicans introduced a few days ago.…”
