The violence that took place at Club Q follows years of long efforts by some state lawmakers to erase LGBTQ+ people from school curriculum.

If we are able to comprehensively address this crisis, it will depend on getting dark money out of our political system and make democracy responsive to everyday Americans.

We are already seeing the disastrous effects of this decision as states begin criminalizing abortion.

It is high time that Congress gets serious about the cost of anti-LGBTQ hatred and commit to honoring those in its crosshairs with real actions.
