The problem is the other side of the aisle wants to abolish four programs that help people stay in their homes, helps affordable housing. They have no idea or no program to be helpful. They say it will be taxpayers' money. But if they supported the Democratic plan, it would have come out of an assessment on the banks. I understand the chairman will be introducing a bill, and I would like to cosponsor that.

This devastating decision is taking away a fundamental right that we felt was settled law with 50 years of precedent.
If we are able to comprehensively address this crisis, it will depend on getting dark money out of our political system and make democracy responsive to everyday Americans.
We need to say without apology that people who endanger entire marginalized communities for social media content and fundraising fodder have no place in our politics.
It seems to me that if a company really cared that its products were being used to kill scores of Americans it would stop selling them.
