I commend the gentleman's words. I think that there is legitimate disagreement about how to encourage these moderate voices that we have heard about to emerge. One thing we do have to keep in mind, though, as the gentleman points out, is that there are people whose lives quite literally hang in the balance at this moment in time. But I certainly think that being in support of this amendment someone can legitimately hold a position on either side. We are just saying let us take a symbolic deep breath, step back, and hope we can encourage the behavior we would like.
