The conditions, the food conditions are horrible. We feel that they’re not getting medical services. We feel that they’re overcrowded, and they’re denied their fundamental rights.

We will continue to welcome people from all over the world.

When I came to this nation as a young, immigrant boy, I never could have imagined I would be a member of Congress.

This nation, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary, still has promise. And I think immigration has been a central part of our ability to move forward as a nation.
