Thank you, Mr. Speaker. At this time I'd like to yield to the gentlelady from California, Representative Bass, who, as a former legislator like myself, has dealt with these types of brutal across-the-board cuts as proposed and having to work across party lines in a bipartisan way to find commonsense solutions. I think that it is common sense that we need a little more of here in Washington, D.C. I am pleased to yield to the gentlelady from California.
