Madam President, we are here today to talk about our Federal budget. Republicans are, once again, going to use the budget reconciliation process to pass a massive new tax cut for billionaires-- a massive new tax cut for the billionaires--and the ultrawealthy, paid for by cutting programs and services critical to Americans' health, like Medicaid. This is going to affect children, families, even the men and women who serve our country. This would be on top of devastating cuts that Elon Musk and Donald Trump--well, that they are already implementing across the government--cuts that are hurting men and women who bravely served this country, cuts that are hurting our national security, and cuts that, sadly, cruelly, are making life harder for our veterans. I don't have to tell anyone here the Department of Veterans Affairs provides essential care to the men and women who served this Nation as well as their families who worry about them every single day. These services are not a luxury for our veterans; they are a necessity. They are a promise that we, as a nation, will take care of those who are willing to risk their lives for our safety and for our freedom. This is the very least we can do for those who sacrificed so much.…
