I want to take a few minutes to thank my colleagues for their resounding support of this lead reduction legislation. It is extremely important legislation for the country. There are many people I want to thank for helping this bill pass the Senate, not the least of which is the chairman of the committee, Senator Baucus. He has been very patient and understanding, and this has been a difficult issue for western Senators because it involves a mineral, lead, which is produced in Nevada and in Montana. But I do say--and I want this spread across the Record--that Senator Baucus has always been willing to listen, and he has been a great arbiter of some very difficult situations we have had, and the people of Montana, and the people of this country are well served with his being chairman of this committee. And Senator Baucus' staff member, Cliff Rothenstein, has been extremely helpful. I thank Sheila Humke, who was on my personal staff many years.
