The reason I appeared on the show was to respond to some TV ads that are starting tomorrow where the Bush campaign is paying millions of dollars to run an ad around the country that is absolutely fabricated. The ad said Senator Kerry voted for a 50-cent-per-gallon gas tax increase. Is the Senator aware that this statement is baseless, never happened, and that millions of dollars are going to be spent starting tomorrow saying Senator Kerry has previously in the Senate voted for a 50-cent-a-gallon increase in taxes for gasoline?”
