Laurence Silberman is a partisan zealot. Now the New York Times article the Senator pointed out is a group of people, including Tim Roemer, and Governor Kean of New Jersey. No one questions his integrity. He believes we should move forward and get this done as soon as possible. I repeat, the independent commission President Bush has appointed to look at the failure of intelligence in our country will never, ever be accepted for a number of reasons, not only the breadth and scope of the investigation but because of the cochair, Laurence Silberman.”
