I also concur. The potential consequences in this region are enormous. In California, assessing earthquake risks for a major project like this is an important part of the process. Concern about the possibility of earthquakes contributed to putting the project on hold in the first place. This concern remains important and should be addressed before deciding whether to proceed. The best way to do this is for the U.S. Geological Survey to produce an updated analysis on the risks involved.
