following leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 11:30 a.m. The majority will control the first half and the Republicans will control the final half. Following morning business, the Senate will begin consideration of the STOCK Act. Senators will be notified when votes are scheduled. ____________________

The Senate is a place to kill things. It isn’t a place that you look to get things done.
The filibuster is nondemocratic. It has been used to the disarray of the Congress. And, certainly, it hasn’t been anything that has helped -- been helpful to the American people. It’s got to go.
Never in the history of the country, never in the history of the country have we produced more for a president and somebody that’s led his party than we’ve done together.
The filibuster is going away. It is nothing that helps the country. It doesn’t help states. It doesn’t help individuals. It is on its way out. It’s a question of when it goes.
