I was introduced to a woman from the State of Maine. She was here representing Parents Against Tired Truckers. This woman lost a son. In 1993, her son was killed by a truckdriver who had been on the road too long. That is what this legislation is all about, making sure our roads are safer. I acknowledge that there are things we could do with American truckdrivers that would create safer ways for me and my family to travel on these roads. But we do not need to get into that today. What we need to get into today is recognizing what Senators Murray and Shelby have done, which is to write legislation to make our roads safer so that we do not have this organization gaining more parents who have lost children as a result of tired truckers.
