It is also my recollection that during that 17-month period the Senator from Vermont's office received a letter which contained anthrax, Senator Daschle's office received a letter which contained anthrax, and 9/11 occurred. In spite of all that, and the Senate being, in effect, locked down and the country being locked down, still the Judiciary Committee, led by the distinguished Senator from Vermont, approved a record number of judges, in spite of those items I mentioned--two anthrax attacks, one on the Senator who is now before me, one on the distinguished majority leader, the Democratic leader, and 9/11.
