The minimum wage, I am confident the Senator would acknowledge, is not some wild-eyed idea that someone came up with in the last 5 or 10 years. It is true, is it not, that the minimum wage legislation was initiated during the Great Depression? We have had a minimum wage, and it has been increased, for approximately 70 years. Is that a fair statement?
