Harry Reid: “I simply do not agree. I, therefore, at a subsequent time before we adjourn this evening, will ask unanimous consent…”

On the recordApril 29, 2004
I simply do not agree. I, therefore, at a subsequent time before we adjourn this evening, will ask unanimous consent that the Senate pass a 2-month extension, something the House has already done. I personally would not want to return to Nevada, recognizing that I would not agree to a 2-month extension. In Nevada, it would wreak havoc with the growth of the State there. The fact is, even where there is not rapid growth, as in Nevada, there are repairs that must be done. The construction season is upon us. Some of these projects will never go forward.
