“If it is as important as has been read into the Record, it would seem to me the House should hang around a little while longer. I say to the Republican leader and our majority leader, I haven't seen a list of amendments. Everybody knows we have just a few important amendments to finish the Patients' Bill of Rights. If we are given a list of amendments that is large in number, I don't think that is in keeping with what I think should be the general agreement to finish the legislation. If we are given a list of 10, 20, 30, 50 amendments, I suggest to the majority leader, that is not part of the deal. We have a few amendments left to go.”
