The Nuclear Waste Technical Reviewing Board clearly stated: The board sees no compelling technical or safety reason to move spent fuel to a centralized storage facility for the next few years. This a statement they just made: The methods now used to store spent fuel at reactor sites are safe and will remain safe for decades to come.
