“I was in my office early this morning, and Gary Myrick, who works for me, came in and said, Is there anything you need? I said yes, patience. I mentioned that to the distinguished Republican leader a few minutes ago. I think everyone needs that today. It is going to be a difficult day. I hope we will all have patience and understanding, recognizing that these are tense times--not only because of the legislation we are dealing with but also the holidays. We are all anxious to get back to our families, but we have work to do. I hope we all have patience.”
