There were compromises made in the committee and certainly compromises made here on the Senate floor. But we have had bipartisan cooperation. This is comprehensive immigration reform, focusing first on border security. This legislation will do so much to make our borders more secure. We have done a lot of things that have never been tried before to improve the security of our Nation by doing something about our borders. I have gone to the borders and I have seen the hard-working Border Patrolmen. They work so hard with so little attention.…”
