The filibuster is nondemocratic. It has been used to the disarray of the Congress. And, certainly, it hasn’t been anything that has helped -- been helpful to the American people. It’s got to go.
He has no regrets. He says he had to do it to save Obama’s presidency because of what the Republicans were doing to obstruct the president’s confirmation of judges and other legislative things.
Get rid of the filibuster. It`s nothing. As Barack Obama said at John Lewis` funeral, it`s part of the leftovers from the days of slave owners. You have got to get rid of it. It`s very bad.
Let ‘em do it. Why in the world would we care? We were trying to protect everybody.
