I am filing a cloture motion on the Kagan nomination. I have spoken to the Republican leader. This is in no way to cut off debate. We have had 20 Senators who have spoken today. I want Senators to have the ability to speak in whatever means they feel appropriate, but I just do not want a renegade Senator to stop us from being able to complete this nomination.
The speaker is addressing the nomination process for Elena Kagan and the need for a cloture motion.
