While the distinguished chairman of the Appropriations Committee was talking, I had a visit with some of the pages to ask them did they realize who was speaking. They all knew who he was. They knew he was a heroic man winning the Medal of Honor. They knew he had been elected to the Senate nine different times in addition to service in the House of Representatives. So it is great that our pages are so versed on what happens around here. We depend on them very much, and I am grateful they understand what a great man the chairman of the Appropriations Committee is. ____________________
