Mr. President, I may not have the opportunity tomorrow to speak on this nomination of David Petraeus. In the last 50 years, he is the most noted soldier that we have had in the U.S. military. This man could retire and go off into the business community and make millions and millions of dollars. This man has a Ph.D. from Princeton. He is a highly decorated member of the Army. He is just such a fine man, and he is walking away from that money because--as he told me--he thinks he owes his country more public service. This is one of the finest people we have ever had as a public servant in our country. I suggest the absence of a quorum. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will call the roll. The assistant legislative clerk proceeded to call the roll.
