This bill is something that the country needs. And the Senate needs to do this. I hope that we can figure out a way to do it.

This is a bill that will never, ever make a majority of the Republicans happy. It doesn't matter what we do.

If we put rhetoric aside, we have the opportunity to pass a law that treats people fairly and strengthens our economy.

We must not create a law that guarantees a permanent underclass. People who are here to work in low-wage, low-skill jobs.
