following leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 4:30 p.m. today. Following morning business, the Senate will go to executive session to consider the nomination of Adalberto Jordan to be a circuit judge for the Eleventh Circuit. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a cloture vote on the Jordan nomination. We hope to be able to yield back postcloture time and confirm this nomination this evening. ____________________

More from Harry Reid
Well, I think Joe Biden has done what needs to be done in this country. We are so far behind and roads, bridges, dams, water systems, sewer systems. And every dollar we spend on getting infrastructure is a correction toward cleaner America.
Get rid of the filibuster. It’s nothing. As Barack Obama said at John Lewis’ funeral, it’s part of the leftovers from the days of slave owners. You have got to get rid of it. It’s very bad.
The Republican Party that we now have is not the Republican Party of John Chafee, Mark Hatfield, those people who were really stalwarts in moving the country forward.
The filibuster is nondemocratic. It has been used to the disarray of the Congress. And, certainly, it hasn’t been anything that has helped -- been helpful to the American people. It’s got to go.
