my friend from Alaska said if something happens and one of these casks is breached, there will be an explosion. But understand, standing within 3 feet of a spent fuel rod is a lethal dose--three feet. It will kill you. It may not kill you immediately. But you are dead. It will kill you pretty quickly. As has been brought out by my friend from Nevada, the shipments are not dangerous, relatively speaking.
