Mr. Speaker, we are in a moment of constitutional crisis. These days will define what we stand for. They will define who we stand with. Yet in this time of crisis, Republicans are rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Republicans are using the precious floor time we are given to put forth watered-down fentanyl bills like the one in this rule. Let's remember that all of these bills require a Federal agency to enforce it. Let me remind my Republican colleagues that their President granted Elon Musk the authority to dismantle our Federal agencies. Musk and his DOGE--I like to call it dodgy because they seem to dodge any kind of authority and accountability--are intent on destroying our Federal Government and the essential services it provides. Mr. Speaker, I remind my colleagues to remember their power and remember their constitutional duty. Musk didn't take an oath to protect the Constitution. We did. Voters sent us here to protect their interests. Congress alone has the power to fund our agencies. A billionaire who was not elected and has not probably even passed a security clearance cannot destroy our Federal agencies. We will not stand for it, and I hope you stand with us to protect our Federal agencies, including the FBI who would be the ones who would enforce and investigate and go after fentanyl trafficking. My phones are ringing off the hook from constituents who are frightened and terrified and angry about what Musk is doing.…
