I rise with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes to honor the three lives lost this week in the catastrophic floods in Ruidoso, New Mexico, including two young children visiting Ruidoso from El Paso. Their father, an airman from Fort Bliss, remains in critical condition. The third, Benjamin Feagin, dreamed of retiring in the forests above Ruidoso. We grieve in solidarity with Ruidoso and with the communities in central Texas that have been hit by these devastating floods. Today, we hold them in our hearts, in our minds, and in our prayers and stand ready to support our communities as they rebuild and recover.
