Martin Heinrich: “Thank you, Chairman Barrasso.”

To put a mine where we went this week just seems insane to me. It would put at risk one of the last great wilderness areas in North America — not just the Boundary Waters, but the Boundary Waters, Quetico and Voyageurs.

I voted against Mr. Blanche’s nomination because he has repeatedly shown that his loyalty is to Donald Trump – not to the Constitution or the American people.

This week, I encourage every American to get outside, enjoy a national park or public land, and help protect these national treasures for generations to come.

We cannot afford to go backwards and make Americans’ health worse.
