Our whole premise as we approached this permitting bill was: How do we create a faster process, not lower the bar on standards.

We need permitting reform to put more electrons on the grid. It results in more jobs, and it's the one thing that can bring down the pressure on the cost of electricity and energy right now.

We’re going to get to ‘yes’ faster. We’re also going to get to ‘no’ faster when a project is harmful.

And some of the secret sauce in this was just the fact that we had four people who were genuinely committed to a balanced package that both sides could support.
